Use Shopify’s admin AI and a general chat tool for drafts. Use a photo tool if you need backgrounds cleaned. Add a storefront AI app only for a job the theme cannot do. Edit every fact before it goes live.

Shopify has shipped AI assistance inside the admin across recent Editions (Sidekick and related draft tools are the names people use). Availability depends on store and region. Treat the output as a first pass. If it invents a stone weight, you still own the error.

What to skip
Apps that promise guaranteed ChatGPT citations. “AI SEO” suites that inject a second Product schema. Five chat widgets. Image generators used as the only product photo for a physical good you must ship. See description generators and AI product photography for those two jobs in more detail.
