Shopify Markets shows the wrong currency when the shopper country, the market you configured and the theme do not agree. A customer in Australia sees US dollars, or a rounded price that no longer matches the ad they clicked.
Settings, Markets. Confirm the country is in the market you intend, with the currency and price rounding you want. Then view the product in a private window with that country selected. If the symbol never changes, the theme is printing a hardcoded price.
Fixes by cause
- Two geolocation apps: keep Shopify Markets and remove the other
- Hardcoded $ in a custom section: replace it with the theme price output
- Duties and taxes included in one market and not another: say so on the product page
- Shipping zones that do not match the market: the price looks right and delivery looks impossible
This is the operational side of selling in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and India. Design still has to show delivery and price before add to cart. Use the store design checklist.
When you need a developer
Market settings are yours. A theme that ignores them is Shopify development. Payment methods for India are a separate setup from currency display. After markets are live, monthly maintenance should retest one product per country when the theme changes.
Send the product URL and the countries that look wrong. Request a markets review.
