Connecting a domain means telling the internet where the website lives. You do that with DNS. You do not upload the domain as a file. If the name and the host are already on the same Hostinger account, Hostinger often finishes this for you.

If the site is on Hostinger, copy the nameservers or records from hPanel and paste them at the registrar. If the site is a Shopify shop, use Shopify’s domain screen instead. Wait for DNS. Then turn on HTTPS.
Two common methods on Hostinger
Nameservers. Hostinger’s current docs say this is the usual method and that values can be unique per website. In hPanel, open Websites, find the site, and use Connect domain or Check guide. Copy the two nameservers shown. At the registrar, replace the old nameservers and save. If the domain is already registered on the same Hostinger account, they say you often need no manual change.
A record. You keep DNS at the registrar (or at Cloudflare) and point @ and www at the hosting IP Hostinger shows. Use this when you must keep DNS elsewhere. Hostinger also notes that some AI Builder setups do not use a simple A record. Check the guide for the kind of site you built.

Wait. Then open the site on a phone using the real name. Check HTTPS. If email stays at another provider, do not blindly change nameservers without copying MX records first. That is how inboxes vanish for a day.
