A business website answers “who are you and what do you do?” A landing page answers “do this next.” If you mix them, you get a homepage with a form buried under six sections, or a campaign URL that cannot prove the company is real.
How to plan a full site is in how to create a business website. Page list ideas are in pages every business website should have.
Build a website when people will look you up, compare services, or return later. Build a landing page when one campaign has one offer and one action. Keep the company site for trust. Keep the landing page short.
| Business website | Landing page | |
|---|---|---|
| Pages | Several | Usually one |
| Nav | Yes | Little or none |
| Job | Explain the firm | Get one action |
| Typical traffic | Search, referral, direct | Ads, email, one campaign |
| Trust pages | About, work, legal | A short proof block is enough |
Ad → landing page → form. Versus search → home → services → contact. ALT: Two paths, campaign landing page versus full website.
When a landing page is the right first spend
You are testing one offer. You are running ads this month. You do not yet need a blog or five service essays. A clear page with a form, a phone number and a real address line can be enough. Host it on Hostinger or as a page on the site you already have. See what hosting is.
When you still need the website
People will search the company name after the ad. WhatsApp leads will ask for a URL. Banks, partners and hiring will look you up. A landing page alone looks temporary. Instagram is not a substitute. That comparison is website vs Instagram.
If the “landing page” is actually a shop, you want Shopify, not a form builder. Hostinger vs Shopify keeps those products apart.
Business websites and campaign pages are both in scope. Send the offer and whether ads are involved.
